Skala Potamias is the perfect place for a quiet beach holiday in superb, natural surroundings. This developing resort can be a little subdued in May and October, when some restaurants and shops are closed, but great if you want to avoid the bustle. Buses run to Thassos Town, and car rental is available as are exchange facilities. Credit cards are not accepted in this resort. Golden Beach certainly lives up to its name, with glorious sands backed by pine-clad mountains. It is still being developed in places and there are no buses, so unless you hire a car you will need to get out and about by taxi or on foot. There is a water-taxi service to Thassos Town in high season and exchange facilities are available in Skala.
