Boasting a superb beach, Pizzo is a romantic town made up side streets lined with boutiques and restaurants that open out into a main square or 'piazza'. This picturesque resort has lots to see and do including a romantic castle built in 1495 that overlooks the sea. For a truly humbling experience visit the church of Piedigrotta. Burrowed into a natural cave, it was constructed by sailors thanking the Madonna for saving them from a shipwreck. Mostly the work of a father and son, it's filled with quirky monuments chipped into the stone.
