Santa Eulalia

Santa Eulalia is situated next to the only river in the Balearic Islands on the east coast of Ibiza, 19 km north of Ibiza Town. It is a smart, cosmopolitan resort and couples and families with older children love this former market town.

There is a clean, sandy beach backed by an attractive promenade lined with palms and oleanders. The sand is soft, the sea is crystal clear and the beach shelves gently - it's excellent for swimming and watersports, including sailing and windsurfing.

Throughout the summer there's a hippy market in the main square ? the Ramblas ? every day except Sunday. A unique part of Ibicencan culture, it's the ideal place to browse for gifts and souvenirs. Look out for Ibicencan pottery.

The style is quality rather than quantity. The writers and artists who established Santa Eulalia as a colony for foreigners have left a legacy of cafes, bars and restaurants rather than nightclubs and discos, of chat rather than song.
