Cala Alcaufar

The picturesque, unspoilt village of Cala Alcaufar looks out over a beautiful sandy cove to the deep blue lapping waves of the Mediterranean Sea beyond.

It's a measure of how off the beaten track Cala Alcaufar is, that it only has one restaurant and a cafe bar serving light tapas dishes. The food is good however, and the prices are reasonable.

For a real taste of rustic Minorca, visit the nearby fishing villages of Binibeca and Biniancolla. Delicious food, pretty coves, tiny streets and hospitable locals will all make your visit one to remember.

Nightlife in Cala Alcaufar is rather subdued and so makes for the perfect relaxing break, away from it all. Entertainment tends to be centred around the resort's hotels, a karaoke bar and a disco which only opens in peak season. Head to Minorca's vibrant capital Mahon for a more lively nighttime experience.
