Es Castell is a small, relaxing village with a Bohemian flavour, proud of its British ancestry and situated on the gently-sloping east coast, some 3km south of Mahon.
If you want to discover some of the island's treasures, why not take a boat trip along the bay, a tour of local prehistoric monuments, visit towns inland or the hilltop sanctuary of El Toro?
Es Castell has two inlets to the Port of Mahon - Calas Fons is popular with a wide choice of restaurants built into the rock, Cala Corp has Es Cau bar, where Minorcans sing their traditional songs. There is also the famous drag show in the Bar Salon, just off the main square.
